Agriculture, forestry, and outdoor recreation employ many of our families and friends, and have all contributed to producing the Bennington County landscape we feel at home in. BCCD works to preserve our rural economy and its creative contribution to our environment. 

To support our local farmers, Bennington County NRCD offers free technical assistance and education.  Our agronomists assist with nutrient management training and UVM Extension’s GoCrop software, soil and water testing, free no-till drill rentals, Required Agricultural Practices (RAPs) compliance and grant referrals and applications. 

For forest owners and managers, we are excited to partner with VT Forest, Parks and Recreation county forester, Cory Creegan, UVM extension, NRCS and local non-profits to provide management options, Use Value Appraisal (UVA) enrollment, grant assistance, and education.
