Biochar Workshop

Biochar workshop on Dec. 13 at 10AM, Bennington Veteran’s Incubator Farm. Open to public. Register via QR code.

Join us for an in-depth, hands-on Biochar Workshop exploring how this ancient practice is solving modern environmental challenges.

Participants will learn about the history, production, and diverse applications of biochar. The session will cover production methods, with discussion on how each approach can be adapted to community and agricultural contexts.

Biochar offers a wide range of benefits, including improved soil structure and fertility, remediation and removal of heavy metals and chemical contaminants, and bushfire hazard mitigation. It is a powerful tool for soil regeneration, water quality improvement, and long-term carbon sequestration.

The workshop will also highlight recent research and local trials where biochar has been successfully applied in gardens, farms, and land restoration projects. Attendees will gain practical insight into how biochar can benefit your operation and strengthen our local ecosystems.

Hot beverages and light refreshments will be provided. Please dress appropriately for outdoor conditions. Note that there is no restroom on-site.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
