Silvopasture

Silvopasture is an agroforestry practice that combines trees, forage plants, and grazing livestock on the same land, creating a system with multiple benefits such as:

  • Increased Productivity: Silvopasture can lead to higher yields of both timber and livestock products.
  • Diversified Income: Harvesting an array of products will increase economic stability and create the potential for complex income streams spread out over varying timelines.
  • Improved Animal Well-being: Shade and diverse forage can improve animal health and productivity. 
  • Enhanced Ecosystem Services: Silvopasture can improve soil health, sequester carbon, and increase biodiversity.
