BCCD to Help Coordinate Southwestern Vermont Agriculture Meetings
The Bennington County Conservation District is partnering with the Poultney Mettowee and Rutland NRCDs to coordinate Southwestern Vermont’s Agricultural Water Quality Partner meetings or VAWQP. Part of a state-wide effort to coordinate agricultural service providers state-wide, we are hoping to share research, discuss needs, information and best practices to ensure we are providing the best service possible to our farmer’s and the environment. These bi-annual meetings will bring together conservation district, VT Dept. of Environmental Conservation, VT Ag. of Agricultural, Food & Markets, UVM extension, Vermont Land Trust, VT Housing and Conservation Board staff and other partners to the table. Collaborating will ensure that our agricultural community receives consistent and collaborative service, while adhering to Federal 1619 privacy standards. We are excited to share this role with our fellow conservation districts and look forward to providing updates after our first meeting in August.
