Wastewater Workshop
We had a blast learning about septic systems, soil science, and wastewater prevention with Jude from Septic Education for Everyone (SEFE.org). Participants sifted soils, explored hands-on displays, and even raced remote-control toilets while discovering how septic systems work and why they fail. One of the biggest takeaways was that too much water is the leading cause of septic failures, making simple actions like fixing leaks and routine maintenance especially important. With games, demonstrations, and plenty of laughs, the workshop sparked conversations across generations about protecting our rivers, streams, and community health.
