We will be hosting a discovery table at the Waterworks Bridge Access Area in Arlington. Stop by and get to know your neighbors (the tiny ones in the creek, of course!).

The Bennington County Conservation District invites you to explore the fascinating world of creek critters—aquatic insects, snails, and other macroinvertebrates that help us understand the health of our waterways and how our actions on land impact local streams.

This program is perfect for families, youth groups, educators, and curious adults. No science background needed—just curiosity and a willingness to get your feet a little wet.

What to Bring

  • Shoes that can get wet and muddy (old sneakers, crocs, or water shoes)
  • Weather-appropriate clothing, hat, and sunscreen
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Optional: a small camp chair or blanket if you’d like a dry place to sit on shore
This event is free and open to the public. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration Required
