A team from the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps joined BCCD recently to whack at and treat Japanese knotweed in Sandgate. Crew members treated about seven-tenths of a mile, nearly an acre of knotweed stems, on Tidds Brook on Southeast Corners Road. The project was supported funding from the Vermont Watershed Grant program, which is supported by the sale of the state's conservation license plates.

VYCCers Sage Hill, Sunil Devadanam, Josh Watkins, Kailey George, and Maddie Ruth slayed and sprayed thousands of Japanese knotweed stems along Tidds Brook in Sandgate.
