Bennington Pottery Research Homepage

In 11 AP English we were given a research project.  We were given the task of researching how Bennington County's land was used in the past.  We chose to research the Bennington Pottery and the local resources they used in the past.  We interviewed Geologist Jeff Slade about his knowledge of clay and kaolin.  We also talked to Jay Slade, a knowledgeable source of Bennington Pottery's history.  One of our main focuses was the parian ware and to uncover the controversial "Parian Myth."  We attempted to prove that the questioned unmarked parian was actually made in Bennington by looking at it from both a geological and historical standpoint.  By looking through our pages you can see the evidence that we gathered and the conclusions that we've come to about the Bennington Pottery.
